WHY RE-ELECT ME?

I am the incumbent in Position 3, running for re-election, with 24 years of experience on the Bethel School Board.

I am running for re-election because I do not feel that my job on the Board is done yet.

The K-12 educational environment across the country and in Oregon has developed into one where there is a lot of outside pressure that is impacting board governance.  I have broad knowledge of K-12 education across the state and a deep understanding of it in Bethel.  I think I have the abilities, while listening to multiple perspectives from all sides, to focus on what is important for the students in the school district.  We have an old saying in Bethel, “It’s all about the kids.”  And this is about the kids.

The important thing about the Bethel District is that we have created a community, centered around Willamette High School. We truly have a small town, family feeling here.  “We are Bethel” is a real thing.  All of us in this district are connected by this sense.

My experience, my commitment to the Bethel community, is unwavering.  I am a steady, thoughtful hand in these times and I think that if granted another term on the board I will offer continuity and experience that is unequaled in this race.  I ask for your support so I may continue to serve the Bethel community.  As a member of this team of dedicated citizens, I hope to continue the good work the Board has done.  It is all about the kids.
